Traditionally a South American instrument, this rainstick is recreated in mature bamboo. Small sticks are inserted into the sound chamber in a spiral. The fine beads filling the chamber fall through these sticks creating a cascade of sound like a pleasant rain shower. The outer surface of the bamboo is also decorated with carving and traditional paint designs.
